“Several political types observed almost immediately the direct link between BART striking a conversational tone with riders who will, before they know it, be asked to give BART more money at the ballot box.” From SF Weekly: The $3.5 Billion Reasons Why BART is Tweeting Honestly
BART has to be one of the lowest quality rail services in the US. Okay, granted, most rail systems are utter shit, but BART just barely sinks below all the rest. Only with BART have I stood on a platform thinking, “My train isn’t coming at all,” to only then proceed to think, “This may the day when no trains ever come again.”
I’m not kidding. One day I’ll hear a voice come over the loudspeakers saying, “Ladies and gentlemen: BART has been shut down indefinitely. We apologize for the inconvenience,” and I will not be at all surprised.
What about Sac RT? Sure, it’s a cesspool of crime and BO and harassment, but at least it’s free!
